Our Mission
The mission of Team 8789, the Lost Sockets Robotics Team from Lord Dorchester Secondary School, is to foster a culture of inclusivity, innovation, and excellence. We are committed to creating a welcoming environment where all students—regardless of prior knowledge or experience—feel empowered to explore and develop their interests.
We proudly embrace individuals with passions spanning STEAM, as well as marketing, business, and management, recognizing that diverse perspectives strengthen our team and drive meaningful success. Through collaboration, mentorship, and hands-on learning, we cultivate a community that values curiosity, growth, and leadership.
Guided by dedicated mentors and experienced students, we strive to inspire confidence in every member, equipping them with the skills, knowledge, and mindset needed to thrive in FIRST Robotics and beyond.
Our Values
The Lost Sockets greatly value inclusivity, not just in our team, but throughout all of FIRST Robotics. We are always welcoming new players to the team and collaborate very well with other teams at FIRST. We also value ensuring each student reaches their full potential, always pushing students to try their best and to explore innovative and creative solutions. Teamwork is also a keystone of our team, focusing on student lead design and problem solving.
